Soft meals that still feel like dinner
Moist, recognizable meals for people who need an easier chew, and a clear line about what a recipe page cannot decide.

A soft meal can be meatballs and polenta, flaked fish, eggs, lentil stew, or a pot roast cooked until a fork gives up. It should look like food. Dry chicken and a pile of unseasoned puree are not the only two options, and they are both easy to get wrong.
Moisture is the technique. Put the cooking juices back when you reheat. A microwave dries the edges and leaves the center cold, so stir and then let it cool enough to eat safely.
If swallowing hurts, food sticks, or meals cause coughing, this article is the wrong authority. Talk to a clinician or a speech-language pathologist. The same is true for unplanned weight loss.
The large-type pages start at soft foods for older adults. Caregivers can write the day on the meal log so the next person is not guessing.
